You Can't Please Everyone

(What is with the mood icons? I haven't been able to change my mood for the last two journal entries.
)I'm a member of a MyFamily website run by my dad's older sister. It's a pretty fun group overall. We share stories, photographs, thoughts, prayers, and support for everyone. Pets are always a huge sharing point among us, and every so often I post a picture of my gerbils, which everyone seems to enjoy. My dad especially, since he never gets the chance to see them in person.
Everyone except for one person--an older woman--who makes it a point to tell me that she hates rodents and my gerbils are nothing but vermin and wouldn't I prefer to have a nice kitty or a puppy dog?
Now I realize that there are a lot of people whom dislike rodents. Rats and mice have a nasty reputation, and I very much understand that some people have an aversion to them. What I don't understand is why she chooses to click on the link when it very clearly states that there are gerbils in the photograph, and then proceeds to complain that she doesn't like rodents.
Well for crying out loud, don't click on the link then!
Yeesh!
In other news, my artistic muse is flat on her back and too tired to work, so I'm a little bit dead right now when it comes to posting anything.

My friend Jennifer is still fighting colon cancer, though it appears that her tumors are shrinking. Please pray for continued improvement--especially for the sake of her kids.

Almost every journal I've read over the past few days has involved deviants having issues with changing the icons. .O. My guess is that it's something to do with dA upgrading to v 6.0, or whatever that latest beta testing thing was that they were going to release.

Rodents aren't vermin. People who make snippy, rude, comments and just look for things to complain about are the vermin.
I'm sorry, that was uncalled for. xD
But seriously. Don't let her get to you. Your pets are adorable!

Nah, I'm not really letting her get to me. Just a little bit annoyed, if anything. Besides, seeing the positive comments from my dad and other site members makes it all worthwhile.
